Inconsistent Spray Tan Colour?
What Effects Your Skin’s pH?
Our skin types are broken down into two categories, either neutral skin type (alkaline) or reactive skin type(acidic).
Your daily skin routine greatly effects your PH levels, particularly cleansers and body washes incorporated into your shower routine. Its most common for cleansers to include SLS ( Sodium Lauryl Suphate) which has a PH level of 10!
How Can You Help Maintain A Great PH Skin Level?
The ideal skin PH is hitting that 5.5 level.
Getting your skin to this level can be maintained by following these great tips
-
Eating foods rich in antioxidants to help fight free radicals.
-
Making sure you apply sunscreen EVERY DAY.
-
Avoiding the use of harsh products.( SLC)
-
Moisturising your skin daily with a moisturiser rich in coconut, olive and argan oils.
How Can This Affect A Spray Tan?
Spray Tanning on skin that has a low or high PH level can potentially effect the end result you desire to create.
If you have a lower PH skin level ( acidic) the level to what is within the Spray Tan Solution (Tanzola is 6 PH Level) you will find that the tan doesn’t last as long- May only last 3 days instead of 7.
These clients will always develop a lighter colour then normal. However, if you have a higher PH skin level you’re at risk of receiving an over-processed result.
