How do I prepare for my spray tan?
Perfect prep = perfect glow. Here's how to get the most out of your tan:

Exfoliate 24 hours prior using a mitt or gentle scrub, focusing on dry areas like elbows, knees, ankles, and wrists.

Shave or wax at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid patchiness.

Skip moisturiser, oils, and perfume on the day of your tan — they can block the tan from absorbing evenly.

Avoid deodorant & perfume which can create green or patchy underarms.

Wear loose, dark clothing after your appointment to avoid rubbing or transferring.
-
Avoid swimming, sweating, or showering during your tan's development time.

What solutions do you use?
Tanzola offers two premium spray tan solutions:

How long will my tan last?
Your spray tan will typically last 7–10 days with proper care. Longevity depends on:

Your skin type and natural exfoliation rate

How well you prepare before the tan
-
Your aftercare (moisturising daily is key!)
We recommend light exfoliation after day 5 to help the tan fade evenly.
Can I tan if I have fair or sensitive skin?
Yes! Our solutions are suitable for all skin types, including fair, freckled, or sensitive skin. We’ll customise your formula to suit your natural tone and desired result — from a subtle glow to a deeper bronze.
If you have concerns, we recommend a patch test before your first session.
Can I go out in the sun after my spray tan?
Yes, but remember: a spray tan does not protect your skin from UV exposure.

Always wear sunscreen (SPF 30+) if you’re spending time outdoors.

Avoid excessive sweating or swimming for the first 8 hours while your tan develops.

Once developed, spray tans can still fade faster with chlorine, salt water, or sunburn — moisturising daily will help preserve your glow.
Will my tan protect me from sunburn?
No — this is a very important myth to bust. Spray tans do not provide any UV protection. You’ll still need to:

Apply SPF every day

Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours when outdoors

Avoid prolonged sun exposure, especially right after tanning

What if I have eczema, acne, or pigmentation?
Spray tanning can actually help even out skin tone and temporarily reduce the appearance of blemishes. However:

If your skin is flaky, broken, or peeling, we recommend waiting until it’s healed before booking.

We can adjust our formula and technique to suit skin with pigmentation or scarring — just let your technician know in advance.
PREGNANCY & SPRAY TANNING
Can I get a spray tan while pregnant?
Yes — spray tanning is generally considered safe during pregnancy, as the solution only sits on the outer layer of your skin and is not absorbed into the bloodstream.
However, we always recommend:

Checking with your doctor before your appointment, especially in the first trimester

Letting your technician know you’re pregnant, so we can make you extra comfortable and adjust your position as needed

Avoiding spray tans if you have any open skin, rashes, or heightened sensitivities (which can sometimes occur during pregnancy)
Are Tanzola solutions safe to use during pregnancy?

Is it safe to spray tan while breastfeeding?
Yes — but we recommend:

Wearing a nursing-safe top or covering the chest area during the tan
-
Avoiding skin-to-skin contact with your baby for at least 8 hours after the tan while it’s developing
-
Giving your skin a quick rinse before nursing if your baby may come in contact with your chest or arms
Once your tan is fully developed and rinsed, it’s safe to carry on as normal.
MOBILE TANNING PROCESS
What’s the process for a mobile spray tan?
Tanzola makes tanning easy — here’s how it works:

Your technician arrives with a pop-up tent, solution, and everything needed.

We'll set up in a bathroom, garage, or tiled space (to protect carpet or flooring).

Your tan will be applied in under 15 minutes — quick, clean, and customised to you.

After the appointment, we’ll pack up quietly and discreetly — no mess left behind!
You can book directly via our Mobile Booking Portal.
Who will be tanning me?
All Tanzola mobile tanners are:

Qualified beauty therapists or certified spray tan professionals

Personally hired and trained by founder Madi

Experienced with bridal, event, and editorial tanning

Friendly, discreet, and trained to deliver consistent, glowing results
We’ll assign the nearest available technician to your booking.
I’ve booked but need to change the time. How do I update my appointment?
You can manage your booking easily online:

Head to the Bookings Portal.
-
Select your region and log in using the email you booked with.
-
Go to "My Bookings" to reschedule or cancel.
Note: You can also reschedule up to 24 hours in advance without a fee.
I’ve confirmed my appointment, but no one has arrived. What do I do?
If your technician hasn't arrived within 10 minutes of your scheduled time:
-
First, check your confirmation email to make sure the time and address are correct.
-
Then, text or call us on 0420 288 211 and we’ll follow up immediately.
Late arrivals are rare, but we’re here to help.
Can I cancel my appointment?
Yes, but please be aware of our cancellation policy:
-
More than 24 hours' notice – no charge.
-
Less than 24 hours' notice – 50% of the booking will be charged.
-
Less than 4 hours' notice or no-show – full amount will be charged.
All cancellations must be processed via your Bookings Portal or by contacting us directly.
I’m not happy with my tan. Can I get a refund?
We’re so sorry to hear that. If you’re not 100% satisfied, please:

Contact us within 24 hours of your appointment via Info@tanzola.com.au

Provide a clear photo and explanation so our team can assess the issue.

We’ll work with you to resolve it — either by offering a refund or a complimentary reapplication.
Can I book multiple people at once?
Absolutely — we specialise in group bookings. We can tan up to 15 people in one visit depending on location. Use the “Group Booking” tab relivant to your area when booking
Do you tan men?
Yes, we offer spray tanning for all genders. If you’re booking a mobile service, please note our team is female — we may require additional info or a referral for first-time male clients.
POST-SPRAY TAN EXPECTATIONS
What should I expect after my tan?
Right after your spray tan, your skin may feel slightly tacky — this is normal and will dry down quickly. You’ll notice an instant tint, but your actual tan will continue to develop over the next several hours.
Avoid the following until your first rinse:

Tight clothing or underwear
-
Sweating, exercise, or swimming
-
Skin-to-skin contact (especially with babies or pets)
-
Washing hands or showering early
My tan looks light after rinsing — is that normal?
Yes! Especially with an Express Tan, it’s common to see minimal colour right after your rinse. That’s because the bronzer has washed away, but the DHA (the active tanning ingredient) is still working its magic underneath. Your true glow will appear gradually and peak within 24–48 hours.
What should I use in the shower after my tan?

Keep your first rinse quick — 30–60 seconds with cool water only (no soap).
-
Avoid shampoos, loofahs, scrubs, or shaving for 24 hours.
-
After your tan has fully developed, use a gentle, sulfate-free body wash to help your glow last longer.
How do I make my tan last?
-
Moisturise daily from Day 2 onward — this is key!
-
Avoid long, hot baths, chlorine, and exfoliating until your tan starts to fade naturally.
-
Pat your skin dry (don’t rub) and use a gradual tanning lotion to extend the life of your colour.
I've had my first shower, and my tan looks streaky. What do I do?
Bronzer Wash-Off
What you're seeing might just be uneven fading of the bronzer, not your actual tan. Your real tan is still developing underneath and will even out over the next 8–24 hours.
Development Time
Spray tans continue to develop after the first rinse. It's common for the colour to look uneven or light right after rinsing—especially with rapid or express tans. Give it time to deepen and settle.
Water Contact or Sweat
If water or sweat touched your skin before your first rinse, it could have caused streaks. If that’s the case, let the tan finish developing and reassess after 24 hours. You can usually even things out with a light self-tan mousse or gradual tanner the next day if needed.
What to Do Now?
1. Get back in the shower, you may not have washed all the bronzer off your skin. Remember to stay in the shower until your skin looks like it did prior to the spray tan, bronzer free!
2. Pat your skin dry—don’t rub.
3. Don't exfoliate.
4. Wait 24 hours, then reassess before deciding if you need a touch-up.
