The Fitzpatrick Scale- How Important Is This in The Spray Tan World
Understanding your clients skin type is essential in achieving the perfect glow.
A great point of reference in understanding your clients skin type is the Fitzpatrick Skin Chart. Developed in 1975, the system was created to understand the amount of pigment your skin has and your skin's reaction to sun exposure. It's essential to understand your clients skin type to the best of our ability.
Split into 6 categories, it's essential to understand which type your potentially client sits in
Type 1
Light or Pale White Pigmentation
Always Burns, Never Tans
Type 2
White Fair Pigmentation
Usually burns, tans with great difficulty
Type 3
Medium to Olive Pigmentation
Burns Mildly, Tans Gradually
Type 4
Moderate Brown Pigmentation
Rarely Burns, Tans with Ease
Type 5
Brown to Dark Brown

The Fitzpatrick scale is essential when learning to spray tan. If you're looking to learn the basics or improve your skills and knowledge our Tanzola Spray Tanning courses are perfect for you.
